Children in Need
The School Council decided to support the charity ‘Children in Need’ by having a non-uniform day. The children were asked to come to school wearing spots. It was fantastic seeing all the children in Class 1 taking part.
The class explored what children in need meant and where the money raised would go to help those in need. They took their Pudsey bear for a trip to the library as they wanted him to know how important and fun books are. They counted Pudsey’s spots in Maths and played the matching Pudsey pairs on the interactive whiteboard. The children held a clothes show in the classroom to give the children the opportunity to talk about their clothing. They painted and coloured Pudsey pictures and they also used their scissor skills to cut out their own moveable Pudsey which they coloured and decorated.
The children brought in a voluntary contribution and overall the school raised £118.45 for a charity that helps children in need all around the world.
