The children explored the history behind the tradition of bonfire night and fireworks. They discovered how to stay safe during bonfire night and shared their own experiences of bonfire night and fireworks with the class. The children recreated their firework experiences in pastels.

    Remember, remember!
    The fifth of November,
    The Gunpowder treason and plot;
    I know of no reason
    Why the Gunpowder treason
    Should ever be forgot!
    Guy Fawkes and his companions
    Did the scheme contrive,
    To blow the King and Parliament
    All up alive.
