Literacy
We have been studying The Ghost of Thomas Kempe by Penelope Lively as part of our literacy unit on older literature. The story is about a poltergeist called Thomas Kempe who causes trouble for a boy called James Harrison and his family. James seeks for the help of an exorcist to try and remove the ghost from the house, although this task proves very difficult indeed.
We imagined we were reporters who had just heard rumours about there being a ghost in the town and wrote articles for the local newspaper running the story. Here are some examples of our work:
